The I AM. grip series is the brainchild of Jake Kaminski, two times Olympian, professional archer and coach. Jake has developed the designs during his long career in archery. Each design addresses different needs. The series includes grips for Recurve and Barebow, with a brand-new option for recurvers that just moved from compound.
-Slightly narrower than the Hoyt Grip but was a close model to it. Essentially a similar version of the Hoyt Grip without the lowered pivot point.

I like the grip, it was done in a short time frame and I received it quickly as described. My grip did not fit the bow perfectly and rocked and loosened a bit with use, I fixed it with a small amount of door foam insulation tape. Quite happy with how it shoots and looks.

A big improvement over the stock grip on my CX7! The glass material stays pretty temperature neutral which was a nice surprise.
The lifeline ridge + pattern have also really helped with the feedback and consistency of each shot. I did have to add some rubber washers to the screws to keep it secure, but it hasn’t moved since.
Tighter groups and it looks great in the sun!

Points good: the “diamond” sears is really useful to feel the pressure point.
The grip is comfortable.
Points to improve:
The holes for my Hoyt GMC were not fully matching on the riser, although the small offset did not harm to turn the screws.
The plastic material is stiff and do not help my super sweating hand: I would like it more sticky.

I have testet different stock grips and never was a big fan of them. Next I tried the Master and Caerus from RCore which was a huge improvement. But after a while I always found something missing…so I decided to give this grip here a go. After some good testing I want to say, that this I AM RECURVE grip from Jake Kaminski is the best fitting and best performing grip for me I had so far. I can find the same hand position all the time and the flat surface helps me a lot to direct the bow completely straight (which was an issue for me with der Caerus because of the sloped design). My hand size is on the large side and up to now I have no reason to ever change my grip again 🙂

I’ve had the grip now for a few weeks. It fits my gillo riser but not quite perfect there is a gap between the top of the grip and my riser. I notice another archer at my club who shoots barebow I shoot recurve had exactly the same gap on his gillo riser. Whether this makes any difference I haven’t noticed. Sits in the hand very well but i find the top of my index finger gets soar not sure why but I’m working on it.

the 0.5mm gap on the top flange of the grip is to compensate for machining errors on the risers and does not affect the shooting at all.

El grip glass encaja perfectamente en mi arco, agradecer a Aris que me mandase un email preguntandome por el año de fabricación, ya que no eran el mismo tamaño de un año para otro. El color varía un poco respecto a las fotos me paso en el grip glass Liquid Sky cyan es más claro que en la foto. El color Brother blue glass es igual a la foto. Los acabados son magníficos. Decir que es super confortable y los patrones de diamante y/o hexagonales son estupendos, hacen que mi mano tenga una mejor referencia de encaje. Mi mano no se resbala con el sudor, está muy estable. Aún sigo probando entre el angulo de 30 y el 38*. Si cambio en un futuro de riser seguiré comprando en Rcore. Muchas gracias

I have two Jake Kaminski “I Am Recurve” grips. One is for a MyBo Elite riser and the other for a Hoyt Satori. Both are excellent and are a big improvement over the OEM grips. Mine are made using the plastic material and have the anti-slip checkering and lifeline ridge.
RCore’s customer service is second to none. My grips were shipped very quickly and I had them within three or four days shipped from Greece.
If you are wanting to upgrade your grip I highly recommend giving RCore a try. I don’t think that you will be disappointed!

Bought this version to see how similar it feels shooting two different makes of riser with exactly the same grip… in this case my Hoyt Factor and Wiawis TFT. Answer is fantastic. I ordered this grip for my SF forged riser based on a WNS grip model. I ordered the amber “glass” material and it arrived in a timely period and looked great. It fit snugly onto the riser and I have enjoyed shooting with it. I like the way the ridge fits into the life line of the hand and the squared off palm side of the grip– I think that is so much better hand fit than grips that are rounded.

I bought the Recurve plastic grip designed by Jake Kaminski for my Hoyt Exceed riser. It fit my riser very well and looks as good as the original Hoyt that came with the riser. The only difference between the Hoyt and the RCore, besides my preferring the design of the RCore, is that the Hoyt is friction fit to the riser and the RCore will slip off until the screw is inserted and tightened. Once tightened, the grip is very secure and looks perfect on the riser. I also bought the Lowered Pivot Point grip by Jake at the same time to see which I preferred. Unfortunately, the shipping cost is a major percentage of the total cost because it is shipped from outside the USA. I bought the two at the same time rather than trying out one at a time to make the purchase more cost effective. I selected the Recurve grip, am very happy with it and prefer it to the original Hoyt grip.

I received my Low Pivot grip a little over 3 months ago and had a try for a week before taking time from archery. It felt quite good. I am now shooting again and have had time to work with the grip and I love it. I don’t know if it is my imagination or not but I am getting tighter groups and arrows are not bearing to the left any more. I have a small hand and the W&W grips are a bit broad for my hand, maybe that was the problem. I purchased the median 38 degree grip.

The search for a grip has continued on to the the IAM Recurve. Previously had the IAM Barebow and the Master grips.
The IAM BB was at the default angle. Still a bit of a noob at the time so didn’t know what I’d prefer and thought it wasn’t low enough. The throat was nice and thick with but the palm pad was too wide. The Master I ordered at low (30 degrees) angle and it was too low for me. My hand felt like it was constantly feeling outstretched, straining my shoulder and the throat didn’t feel as secure but the palm pad was quite nice with the lifeline ridge.
The IAM Recurve at default angle (38 degrees) is a bit narrower in all aspects with regards to the throat and palm pad compared to the IAM BB. Even so, and even without the lifeline ridge, your palm will sit nicely at the palm pad edge at the draw. 38 degrees might be a touch too high for me so the angle search continues.

Since I have this grip me and the G1 have become best friends! I was long looking for the right grip because the orginal one was not for me. The wood version of the IAM Kaminski design grip feels really like I was looking for.
And thanks to the makers of the wooden version of that grip. It was fitting perfectly to the riser. I also like the anti-slip pattern. Now I’m finding the perfect hand position with every shot.
