The I AM. grip series is the brainchild of Jake Kaminski, two times Olympian, professional archer and coach. Jake has developed the designs during his long career in archery. Each design addresses different needs. The series includes grips for Recurve and Barebow, with a brand-new option for recurvers that just moved from compound.

The size/shape is super cool. It’s much better than my default Hoyt grip on my large hands.
My main complain is that the 3D print quality isn’t as best as it could be. There are some places there it is clearly missing supports/cooling when printing and some lines are wonky compared to others. Also the ‘hoyt’ shape doesn’t fit perfectly my xceed riser, there are some large gaps at the top of the grip which makes it less in harmony than the default grip.

Spot on 👍 fitted straight on my riser with no modifications required. Feels good on the bow and has reduced my horizontal grouping.
Just one comment on the material thickness of the grip, I’m an intermediate archer and I didn’t realise by changing the grip thickness it would change your clicker position, it’s common sense to me now but at the time it was a bit strange and not documented, other than that I’m very pleased with the new grip 👍

The design of the grip by JK is very sharp, confortable, accurate, and the lowered pivot point makes it swinging forward super fast. It took me under 80 arrows to get used to it and find a natural bow hand set up.

This grip is similar to the I AM recurve grip but a bit thinner. So you can decide if you like a wider or a thinner platform. In terms of the lowered pivot point I didn’t see that much of a difference in feeling – but my groups are tighter so something must have happened 😀 Overall it is a solid and good feeling platform to shoot and personally I will go with either this one or the I AM recurve. Both are great – give them a try and decide on your own.

The grip does its job. It forces you to use more weight on central stabilizer which, in result, slightly decreases the pin float. I am too early in my archery career, though, to harvest the grip’s full potential 🙂 I will definitely get back to it in the future.

I had trouble with the stock grip on ATX-DX riser. The top was way too thin, and the arrow shelf was digging into my hand. Eventually my index was numbed. I got this grip to test and cannot be happier. It took sometime to be used to it, and I cannot even use other grips using it for a week or two. I liked it so much that I ordered one more for my daughter’s W&W Winex Riser, which was not listed on the drop-down menu. But the customer service was super prompt and helpful to find a compatible one. Thank you R-Core for awesome service and the great grip !!
