Description
The “Curve Eternal” is a grip shape that Patrick has been meticulously working on for the past two and a half years. The design goal was to enable and support the internal rotation of locking of the front arm.
Many grips in the modern era are flat and have sharp corners. Based on the notion that flat and straight geometry cannot be found inside the human body, Patrick has carefully honed a precise and smooth shape. The Curve Eternal is designed to fit comfortably into almost all hands whilst encouraging and developing the rotation, control and alignment of the bones in the front arm.
Development
Patrick developed this grip concept due to the injury he sustained in his from shoulder and the resulting lack of stability and control. He required extra assistance to allow him to keep control of the front arm. Through many iterations he arrived in the Curve Eternal geometry.
The general plane was created quite early on but the size of the palm plate and the overall grip shape were refined over a long period of time.
By leading the palm and the thumb inwards with a gentle and complex slope, the arm is supported and directed towards a powerful locking/latching sensation in the arm and particularly the elbow. This engages the musculature on the rest of the arm through leveraging bone mechanisms in the hand. This creates a pressure point that easily and consistently delivers a controlled shot through a solid front arm.
Patrick has worked on the design for this grip for over 2 years during which time he has won the Kings of Archery 2023, won the Berlin Open (and took silver in 2023) taken Silver at the European Grand Prix and also a Fourth Place at the World Field Champs as well as setting numerous national records and being on over 10 national podiums.
If you like you can choose to have the Huston Archery Logo emblazoned onto the finger side of your grip!
Happy shooting and please enjoy the Eternal Curve.
