Description
The I AM. grip series is the brainchild of Jake Kaminski, two times Olympian, professional archer and coach. Jake has developed the designs during his long career in archery. Each design addresses different needs. The series includes grips for Recurve and Barebow, with a brand-new option for recurvers that just moved from compound.
Details
A nice, thin compound-style grip that you can put on your recurve riser. It is super sharp-looking and the original angle is the same as a compound thus it feels exactly like it. It offers consistency in hand placement and it is extremely user-friendly, especially if you are used to shooting compound.
It’s dead center in the bow itself relative to where the centerline of the bow is. There is a palm filler at the top flange to fill the gap on the webbing between the index and thumb. The IAM Compound mimics the standard Hoyt compound grip angle as well as the width and the slope.
It sits in the hand very well so if you are thinking of switching from compound to recurve this grip is a great idea, potentially if you want the comfort and the feeling of a compound grip .
There is one caveat to add to this grip though; due to its narrow shape, there is no let off when we get the bow back to full draw so it does put some extra stress on where the palm meets the grip, especially on high poundages.
Please note, the “pyramidal” antislip, that is selectable for I AM. grips is applied only in the pressure point as a diamond-shaped area. Please let us know if you want the antislip on the full palm area.
