Selecting a grip is a difficult choice. Not only is it hard to commit to a design without being able to test it in person, but even if you do, the “feel” you get from a few minutes of drawing the bow doesn’t fully define the grip’s long-term suitability.

Grips are not always designed solely for comfort; they are designed to provide valuable feedback to the archer, signaling both when a shot is right and when something is wrong.

For this reason, we offer different designs that provide different types of information. Of course, the physique of the archer’s hand also dictates which direction to take.

Furthermore, you are no longer bound to the original grip that came with your riser or even to the brand of the riser itself. With our design philosophy, you can have the exact same grip regardless of which riser you use.

Below we review and display our base models and pinpoint their basic characteristics that may apply to your specific archery need.

Any of these grips can be made for any of our supported risers in any of the materials we offer, at any angle you require.

Feel free to navigate through the 3D models to get a sense of how the grips would behave in your hand.

The Standard

The standard is an all-around grip that does not deviate too far from standard stock grips.

Compared to the most popular riser grips, it has a slightly more curvy lifeline and a very slight slant to accommodate pushing the thumb towards the target. It is a straightforward grip that will not surprise you in any particular way.

With the optional Lifeline Ridge, it is a great upgrade from any OEM grip you may have without requiring you to adapt to an entirely new “grip feel.”

It is originally designed at 38 degrees (a mid-angle). However, if you want more compatibility and less of a “surprise factor” compared to your previous default grip, just let us know and we can make it as high as your previous grip was.

The Master

The Master is a great all-around and starter grip. It is our bestseller, as it covers most of the needs an archer looks for in a custom grip.

The palm surface has a slight slant towards the thumb, which allows it to point forward towards the target. Its lifeline edge protrudes slightly towards the top left (for a right-handed archer), where the archer can set up their shot by feeling for that “sweet spot” at the center of the palm.

The slightly curved bottom of the lifeline guides the rest of the hand into a repeatable and comfortable position. You can also add a ridge on the lifeline; at just 0.7mm high, it helps you “click” into position during setup but disappears once you reach full draw. It comes with a standard thumb positioner as well.

Being a starter grip doesn’t mean it doesn’t fit more experienced archers. As a matter of fact many champions shoot the Master than any other RCore grip.

It defaults to 38 degrees but can be made to any angle, material, surface, texture and supported riser

K.T.E.E.N.O.S

The K.T.E.E.N.O.S. was initially designed for larger hands because its lifeline runs straight down rather than in a curve. This accommodates a broader palm with a straighter lifeline.

Another defining characteristic of the K.T.E.E.N.O.S. is its slim throat and the slight slant towards the thumb. It offers a larger palm area than the Master, comparable to the I AM Barebow, though the I AM sports a thicker neck.

If your hands are long and skinny, you might appreciate the thin throat, which allows you to place your fingers against the front of the riser for extra feedback

Best to avoid it if your hands are small because it will probably add some torque to your bow due to its large extended bottom part.

Caerus

Designed for Olympic recurve shooters, the Caerus model builds on its designer’s older iterations while adding details to ensure your hand rests precisely every time.

The grip’s throat is reinforced on the thumb side and skinny on the index side to properly support the webbing and guide you to the correct angle. The palm pressure area is flat at the bottom and curves towards the thumb, making hand positioning a matter of feel—you’ll instantly know if something is wrong.

Primarily a recurve-focused design, the Caerus features an open throat and a slanted palm area with a slight curvature to provide feedback on where the center is. It is best suited for larger hands that can appreciate a curved profile

The Bumblebee

The Bumblebee is a slim grip designed so that you can apply force in different ways and still achieve a solid, consistent result.

The lifeline is rounded and non-intrusive, featuring soft curves that rely more on pressure to find the correct position. Consequently, the “check” for positioning comes from deep-tissue pressure rather than just surface-level skin contact, as is the case with models like the Master. Of course, you can still add an optional lifeline ridge for a standard skin-level “anchor” during your hand placement prior to full draw.

Due to its slim shape, it is primarily suited for smaller hands. It still features a thumb placer, and its narrow profile allows your hand to sit easily at the exact center of the bow. The Bumblebee was developed for Maria Olesen, winner of the Kings of Archery 2019.

Tax Evasion

The Tax Evasion provides a very defined lifeline and a distinct pressure point at the center of the palm, thanks to its slightly rounded palm area.

Featuring both a slight slant and a specific curvature, it can be described as a large-radius “ball grip.”

It is primarily designed for meatier hands that require a more pronounced pressure point to provide feedback through the skin.

I AM Compact

The I AM Compact was designed specifically for smaller hands. While you might assume a grip for smaller hands would simply be smaller overall, that isn’t the case here. Instead, this grip is designed to offer a more comfortable and snug fit for small hands that might otherwise feel “gaps” or empty spaces when using a standard grip.

To achieve this, Jake reduced the radius of the pivot point while increasing the angle of the grip. This produces a tighter fit where your hand sits.

The rest of the specifications remain true to the Kaminski grip line: they are flat with no slant, featuring a thumb positioner and the optional anti-slip diamond pressure point. Jake originally designed this grip for his wife, Heather.

I AM Recurve

The I AM grip series comes from the experience and innovation of Jake Kaminski, two-time Olympian, professional archer, and coach. Drawing on years of elite-level experience, Jake set out to design grips that respond to the demands elite archers face in competition and training. Each model was shaped with a specific purpose in mind, giving shooters the chance to find a grip that matches their style and goals.

The I AM Recurve is a design closely based on the Hoyt grip. It’s slightly narrower but maintains a similar feel. This was the grip Jake himself relied on during the 2017 season when he made the switch to WIAWIS, proving its reliability under pressure.

As with all of Jake’s designs, the palm surface is totally flat without any slant, and there is a thumb placer at the top to ensure correct placement.  The edges are sharp thus rendering the need for a lifeline ridge obsolete

For added customization, the “pyramidal” anti-slip texture is available. By default, it’s applied only to the pressure point in a diamond-shaped section, keeping the rest of the palm smooth. However, if you prefer full coverage across the entire palm area, the grip can be finished that way upon request.

I AM Barebow

The I AM Barebow is wider and lower in its default configuration than the recurve to accommodate barebow shooters that use string walking.

The wider surface area provides a more stable platform as barebow risers do not come with long stabilizers.

While the recurve defaults at 38 degrees, the barebow has a default angle of 33 degrees which of course can be changed based on your preference.

The I AM barebow , being thicker than the I AM recurve can also be a replacement for the K.T.E.E.N.O.S for those who like a thicker neck on their grip possibly with an increase in the angle as well.

As with the I AM recurve the lifeline is sharp and the palm surface is flat with the anti-slip going only to a diamond shape unless requested otherwise.

I AM LPP

The I AM LPP continues the core design philosophy of Jake Kaminski, featuring his signature flat palm surface and sharp edges for consistent hand placement.

However, this model introduces several unique refinements, such as a slightly curved and angled lifeline area. This specific shape provides an excellent contact feel while helping to reduce overall torque during the shot.

To further enhance performance, the pivot point has been lowered. This change shifts the balance of the bow to better accommodate front stabilizer weight, ultimately leading to greater stability.

Additionally, the design offers increased hand clearance, making it an ideal choice for archers with larger hands or those who struggle with vane contact issues on their index finger.

The Curve Eternal

The Curve Eternal is a grip shape that Patrick has been meticulously working on for the past two and a half years. The design goal was to enable and support the internal rotation and locking of the front arm.

Based on a totally different design philosophy ,the notion that flat and straight geometry is not found within the human body, Patrick has carefully honed a precise and smooth shape. The Curve Eternal is designed to fit comfortably into almost any hand while encouraging the rotation, control, and alignment of the bones in the front arm.

Patrick developed this concept following an injury to his front shoulder and the resulting lack of stability and control. He required extra assistance to maintain control of the front arm, and through many iterations, he arrived at the Curve Eternal geometry.

The angle sits at a high 46 degrees from the vertical.

By leading the palm and thumb inwards with a gentle, complex slope, the arm is supported and directed toward a powerful “locking” sensation, particularly in the elbow. This engages the musculature of the rest of the arm by leveraging the bone mechanisms in the hand. This creates a pressure point that easily and consistently delivers a controlled shot through a solid front arm.

Patrick has worked on this design for over two years, during which time he won the Kings of Archery 2023 and the Berlin Open, took silver at the European Grand Prix, and placed fourth at the World Field Championships—alongside setting numerous national records and reaching over 10 national podiums. By default, the grip comes with the Huston Archery logo on the finger side.

YeO

The YEO grip represents the culmination of years of grip design by Olympian Patrick Huston and his Coaches in Great Britain.

It comes in two versions: Ye0-Lo and Ye0-Go and the combination of those two versions (available as a bundle and as separate grips) facilitates the technical progression of the archer and assists him in developing optimum recurve technique.

The Yeo-Pro is a mid height version of the Yeo. It blends the bine-stacking relaxation of the Yeo-Lo with the direction enabling angle on the Yeo-Go which Patrick has moved to over years of competing.
